Bled is the only natural island in Slovenia, from the views of which the heart beats

Slovenia is beautiful at any time of the year, and one of the special places that all visitors to this country strive to get to is Lake Bled. This is a real fabulous oasis, the reality of which is hard to believe. How do you like this picture: a lake of extraordinary beauty, in the purest glacial waters of which the Alps are reflected, and in the center is a miniature island of the same name. It is this piece of land that so harmoniously blended with the local beauties and gave the lake more charm, is considered the only natural island in Slovenia.

Only a few objects fit on the islet, one of which was the pilgrimage Church of the Assumption of Mary, built in the 15th century. An old object is decorated with a high 52-meter tower, to the top of which there is a staircase of exactly 99 steps. Given the picturesqueness of this church, it is not surprising that it is often chosen as a place of marriage. The beauty of Bled, and the truth, will not leave anyone indifferent, regardless of the season.

A curious fact is that people lived on a tiny island from time immemorial. The finds of archaeologists allow us to judge that settlements existed here as early as the 11th century BC. In addition, more than a hundred graves were discovered on the territory of Bled, according to assurances of researchers dating from the 9th to 11th centuries.
