Today's Indiana Jones: A Journey Along the Nile

From early childhood, Levison Wood admired the famous travelers of the 19th century. Therefore, when he became an adult and he had a unique opportunity to find himself on the path of his heroes, overcome it with his own strength, he did not hesitate for a minute and agreed. So began the long journey of Levison, modern Indiana Jones, along the Nile. It made him the first person to cross the greatest river of the world from beginning to end.

Levison Wood’s campaign lasted 9 months and resulted in an incredibly interesting, but extremely dangerous adventure.

The former captain of the paratrooper regiment had to walk 32 kilometers a day under the hot African sun, powerful tropical showers, enduring endless, exhausting attacks of insects, and its entire length was 6.5 thousand kilometers.

At the moment, Wood holds the position of photojournalist, and during his journey he took a lot of photographs. We present you his best pictures, which in the most graphic way tell about his amazing adventures.

However, not only the biographies of Ed Stafford and other famous travelers, but also the desire to be like them, inspired Levison to take part in such an adventure. His parents were also passionate about exploring our beautiful world and regularly took their son with them on trips.

And when he turned 18, he independently hitchhiked through Africa for six months.

But the photographer made a name for himself when he began to cross the most dangerous spots on the planet. He hitchhiked from England to India, crossed Afghanistan, Iraq, and visited Madagascar.

Of course, the most amazing of all his adventures was a trip along the banks of the Nile. About his incredible adventures, they even shot a documentary, which was called "Walk along the Nile."

His path was full of serious dangers. During this trip, journalist Matthew Power wished to join Levison. But, unfortunately, unable to withstand the loads, he died due to severe heat stroke.

Voodoo even happened to be under fire. This happened when in the city of Bor (South Sudan), rebels launched an armed attack on a UN mission.
