For most people, the seagull appears in a rather romantic image of a white bird, peacefully and calmly soaring above the water. However, in reality, the picture is somewhat different. Friendly seagulls become only in the face of a common enemy. Only then can they rally and repulse the predator that attacked them. The rest of the time they are greedy, arrogant and quite aggressive. For the sake of a tidbit, they are not averse to fighting, they can easily take prey from another and even beat someone's chick to death.

Seagulls are quite voracious birds, and they feed on almost everything they find. This can be fish, insects, fishing waste, animal corpses, crabs, starfish, eggs and chicks of other birds, rodents and much more.

To make it more convenient for them to hold on to prey, nature endowed their beak with a sharp hook at the end and special teeth along the edges. In addition, the special structure of the bones allows the beak to open so wide that the gull is able to swallow the whole food.

However, despite such terrible and shocking shots, gulls nevertheless bring considerable benefits and are an important element of the food chain. They destroy harmful rodents and locusts, catch weedy species of fish, and in the urban area play the role of orderlies, absorbing various wastes of animal origin.
