On a visit to the petrified trolls

I got to a very cool place in Iceland - the village of Vic. It is believed that this is the southernmost and wettest village on the island. This immediately became clear as we get closer to the goal. Kilometer per kilometer, the weather changed to the opposite, from bright sun to low clouds and drizzling rain. But despite this radical change, Vick turned out to be a wonderful place of power.

On the way, oncoming and passing cars began to disappear in an amazing way.

Clouds fell heavily on the coast.

It seemed the foot of the Eyjafjädlajökull glacier (the very same). Somewhere in the depths, hidden by clouds, is the volcano of the same name, which terrorized all of Europe in March 2010.

From the side of the road, it looks very picturesque.

A special road sign warns me of something important and mysterious in front of me. And not a soul around.

Only one car at a decent speed swept past me in the opposite direction. What's up ahead? Maybe the legendary Icelandic trolls woke up? Or did the volcano decide to remind itself?

Meanwhile, silence and grace are around. Even a drizzling rain in the subject! The feeling of anxiety goes away, giving way to harmony.

Lupins are everywhere - from horizon to horizon. An impressive place and severe weather only enhance the sensations.

Approaching the unique coast of Reinisfjär.

Here is a black Atlantic beach with cliffs, grottoes, arches of various shapes and shapes located near the coast.

Reinisdrangar is the basaltic cliffs in the ocean, which, according to legend, the trolls turned into in the morning sun.

The beach was not deserted. On the contrary, there are quite a lot of tourists. Everything seems to be united by a common euphoria born of impressions.

Imagine the noise of the ocean surf, pretty cool air, drizzling rain and at the same time the happy and smiling faces of passers-by.

Now we go around the rock Reinisfjadl ...

... and we find ourselves in the village of Vic, where all the same petrified trolls. To understand the scale, I’ll mention that their height reaches 66 meters above sea level.

Some call them "fingers" or "needles."

In the village of Vic, 480 people and a trillion lupins live in harmony. If you climb a rock, you can capture the most beautiful panoramic views of these places against the backdrop of a beautiful village church.

But rain and mud do not have to conquer the local hills. So I’ll show you the Vic church close by.

And again on the road. Now in the opposite direction. The distance to Reykjavik from here is about 180 kilometers.

Along the way there are plenty of different objects where you can spend the night or have a bite to eat.

Or enjoy the natural and historical sights.

The so-called "Elven houses". Yes, these also live here, again according to legend ...)

Finally, it is worth stopping by the picturesque Selyalandfoss waterfall. Height 60 meters.

Around the amazing nature.

And the clearing sky on the horizon tells me that I have moved enough away from the mysterious and so attractive house of petrified trolls ...
